Course content:
This module is split into two sections, part one focuses on creating a presentation in PowerPoint. We will focus on inserting text, inserting pictures, formatting text, setting basic animation schemes and working with master slides.
In part two the student will learn about the Internet. This will include using email, using search engines, downloading files (MP3 & Pictures), using online shopping facilities, security and possibly social networking sites.
By the end of Part 1, you will be able to:
Know the main features of PowerPoint
Create a presentation.
Formatting a presentation using several features such as font size, colour, style or slide background, line spacing, bullets and numbering.
Make changes to a presentation such as adding or deleting a slide, copying for moving a slide, re-ordering slides.
Apply a visual effects such as animation and transition effects.
Insert and edit images, organizational charts, data charts and tables.
Print slides, handouts and notes.
Create a presentation in outline view. - Modify the slide master. By the end of Part 2, students will be able to:
Create an email address and using email
Use a search engine
Download files
Use online shopping facilities
Security and the internet
Use a Social networking sites
Course Structure:
Each student has their own computer. Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes. Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts. Students will then work on individual tasks
Homework plays a substantial part of this course and you will be required to perform some additional work outside of class.
